Why are we billing you?
First and foremost, Conservice is a third party utility billing company. That means we work with your property management to manage the billing of the utility services at your property. We bill many different kinds of properties, and each property is billed differently. For more information about the different kinds of properties and to verify what kind of property you live in, please view this link Housing Types.
As Utility Experts we work with your property management to bill each individual unit or home. This allows the property management to focus on rent and leasing issues instead of having to take extra time to generate utility billing. This helps them provide better service to you.
Our Bill Process
Each property is unique, but they all follow a similar billing process.
- First we receive bills from the local utility providers or entities that actually generate and maintain the water, power, trash, or gas systems in the area where you live.
- Secondly, we use the bills we receive to generate utility charges using the billing method outlined in your lease.
- Next we audit the charges to make sure calculations are correct, we will also review charges with the property management if necessary.
- After that we generate a bill copy or email notification and send out the bill.
This process typically takes about 2-3 weeks, and we complete this process each month.
How to find how you are billed
As mentioned above, each property uses different billing methods based on the lease. The best way to find how you are billed by reading your normal monthly bill. If you don't receive a bill by mail or just get an email notification about your bill you can access the full bill copy at www.utilitiesinfo.com.
The billing method for each individual charge, that we generate, will be listed in detail on the second page of your bill copy, as shown in this example.
There are two main sections
- This section shows how each utility is billed. It lists who is actually providing the utility service, then the billing method along with any rate used to bill you if applicable. Immediately beneath the description there are some additional notes or details about the billing to clarify the methods we use.
- This section shows utility conservation tips and any specific notices about your billing. Following these can help you save money overall!
