Understanding Conservice Convenience Fees and Service Fees

When reviewing your monthly bill, you may notice the additional charges below. Here’s what you need to know about these fees:

Account Set Up Fee: The account setup fee is a one-time charge applied when a new utility account is established in your name at a property. This fee covers the administrative costs associated with setting up your billing profile, verifying lease details, and ensuring that your utility tracking is accurately initialized for your unit.

Convenience Fee: A convenience fee is charged whenever processing one-time payments made with a payment card or EFT banking information.

Service Fee: The service fee is charged monthly and covers the processing and consolidation of your charges onto one billing statement. Similar to service fees charged by any service provider (such as a cellular phone bill), the service fee is outlined in your lease agreement and is an inherent part of your utility bill.

Vacant Service Fee: The vacant service fee is a processing fee charged by Conservice. It is applied when a utility provider bills the property for a unit that has an active lease because the resident has not yet established service in their own name

Switch Fee: A switch fee is triggered when a utility service that is supposed to be billed to you by Conservice, is switched out of the property management’s name and into your name erroneously.

Move Out Fee: A charge set by the property management company to cover the administrative and turnover costs. This fee is for generating a final bill and closing your account. It is typically outlined in your lease agreement or utility addendum.
